A second look at the job, and a draft quote
Bid Partner is the AI tool in TailGateBid. You stand at the job, take a few photos and say in a sentence or two what the customer wants. It works out the amounts, your rates set the prices, and you get a draft quote that is yours to change.
30 days free. No card needed.
What you do
- Pick the customerOr add someone new, with a name and the job address.
- Check the placeWhere there is one, a public photo of the address from above is shown. Line it up, or carry on without it.
- Say what the job isA sentence or two is plenty. Type it, or say it out loud where your phone's browser offers that.
- Take a few photosOf the site, and of the part you will be working on.
- Tap "Look it over"Keep the screen open while it works.
What comes back
A draft quote, with a price on each line. With it, Bid Partner shows what the customer gets, what you keep on the job, and what it assumed to get there.
Only you see what you keep. Your customer sees the price.
If it assumed something wrong, change the number. The quote is priced again right there, at no charge.
Then open the draft. It is a quote like any other: change it, put on the photos you choose, and send it when you are ready. Nothing goes to the customer until you press Send.
Your rates set the prices
Where you have set a rate, Bid Partner prices with it.
Where you have not, it does not stop you. It fills in a typical price, marks it "Typical" and tells you which figures are its own. A typical price is Bid Partner's estimate, not your price: check it against what you charge.
Under "Make these prices yours", type what you really charge. The quote is worked out again with your price, and every quote after it uses that price too. Your rates are your own prices, wherever you quote.
It asks when it is unsure
After its first look, Bid Partner may ask a few questions or for another photo, once. Answer what you know and skip the rest. The quote then says what it had to guess.
Any trade
Bid Partner is not built around a list of trades. You describe the job in your own words, and it is built to price it, whatever the trade. How TailGateBid works for your trade.
A quote is never shown as finished with a price missing. A line it could not price says so, the quote reads "1 price needed", and the total says it is short until you set that price.
It is for trade and field-service work done at a customer's place. Work that is not that is turned away.
The view from above
For an address in the lower 48 states, a public aerial photo of the place can be shown. It can help with the estimate, and you choose whether it goes on the quote beside the address.
The photo can be a few years old. Where there is none, Bid Partner works from your own photos.
What it does not do
- It is not a safety inspection.
- It makes mistakes. Check every number before you send the quote.
- It never sends anything to your customer. You are the one who presses Send.
- We give no figure for how accurate or how fast it is, because none has been measured.
Bids
Each job Bid Partner looks over counts as one bid. Every business starts with free bids. Until plans can be paid for, including during the free trial, those free bids are what a business has.
A paid Crew plan is to include 10 bids a month, and a paid Shop plan 30. Beyond those, a bid is to be $3. What each plan costs, and what is not open yet.
Not open yet
- Buying bids. When the free bids are used, paid bids open when billing does.
- The monthly bids that come with a paid plan.
Or start from a quote
Already started a quote by hand? While it is still empty, the quote offers Bid Partner, and the draft fills in that same quote. How a quote is built and signed.
