What goes on it
The lines of the quote
As your customer approved them. Sales tax is charged only on the lines that are taxed.
Approved change orders
Extra work your customer approved by link during the job is added, under the name of the change order it came from.
The deposit, taken off
What was paid on the deposit comes off the final invoice. A deposit that was never paid is closed, so your customer is not asked for it twice.
A due date and your note
Set once how many days an invoice has and the note printed on each one. Either can be changed on any invoice.
An invoice can also be started from scratch, with no job behind it.
Recording payments
TailGateBid does not take the money. Your customer pays you the way they do today, and you record it on the invoice: the amount, how they paid (cash, check, card, bank transfer or something else), a check number or a note, and the date.
Part payments are fine. The invoice shows as part paid, and the balance comes down.
Your dashboard shows what you have collected this month and what is still owed.
When it is late
An invoice that passes its due date is marked overdue, and your customer is emailed a reminder.
If it stays unpaid, more reminders follow, a week apart. After a few they stop.
What your customer sees
A private link, with no account and no password. It shows the invoice, the payments received, the balance, and your own instructions under "How to pay": who to make the check out to, or the number to call. They can print it or save a copy.
Email the link from TailGateBid, or copy it and send it yourself. The invoice shows you when it has been viewed.
It goes out in English or in Spanish, whichever you set for that customer.
Jobs that repeat
A repeating job can send its invoice by itself each time a visit is marked complete. How a repeating job is scheduled.
After it is paid
When an invoice is paid in full, your customer can be asked to rate the job. Nothing is shown on your website until you approve it, and you can switch the request off.
In every plan
Invoices, deposits and payment tracking are part of every plan. See what each plan costs.
Working out a deposit and the tax before you quote? The deposit and sales tax calculator does them with the same sums a TailGateBid quote uses.
